Grandma Lucy's Surprise 70th Bday Breakfast • June 2, 2007

For my mom's 70th birthday, we concocted a little surprise weekend for her. The whole family came to town for the occasion - Naz from Miami, the Briers from San Jose, Julieta from WA, Georgia & Nathan from MN, Julie from TX and the other usual local suspects. Mom arrived at the house around 9:30am when a houseful of smiling brown faces (and a couple of white ones) yelled "Surprise!". Judging from her reaction, she was absolutely and completely surprised. After all the hugging, crying & laughing, we gathered around the kitchen island and enjoyed a Filipino style breakfast with a bottle of bubbly to commemorate the occasion. Thanks to all our family members who traveled to be with us on this special day, and thanks to Mom for 70 years of love and support.
